My school's Motto is "College and Career Ready at Kendall." However, we do not have the technology to prepare them for college and career! We share 25 Chromebooks between 4 classrooms of 25 students. Many times, they are broken or unusable. Many of the students in my classroom do not have access to technology at home. My students would use these chrome books to improve their academic skills in reading, math, and science. They use programs such as Lexia and Myon for reading. Our Language Arts, Science, and Math programs offer technology to practice skills. Additionally, my students would improve their technology skills for when they do State Testing in 3rd grade by learning to type. What they learn now will impact their learning for the rest of their lives. They are learning the foundational skills which will be the basis for the rest of their lives. This technology would give them the access to various programs that motivate them to increase their skills and continue to have a passion for learning!
