I have six happy, verbal and non-verbal students, who love school and are trying very hard to please me and the demands put upon them. My school is part of the District 75 community school, which services children with severe academic, communication and social delays. They are with us as they would not be able to succeed in a regular school setting. They need small group instruction, speech and language services and often physical and occupational therapy. They are lovely boys, who need a lot of encouragement and tasks they can master. They love to have fun, so music and art are always part of our daily routine. They learn best through exploration and hands-on materials, so it is of uttermost importance to give them the daily opportunity to do so.
