I teach a group of passionate and curious 5th graders with a never-ending array of questions and uncertainties. *From the significant: "Why would people crash an airplane on purpose (9/11)?" "Why do we take tests?" "What caused Hitler to hate the Jews so much?" "Are sharks really killers?" *To the silly: "How can I make money?" "Why is pizza round?" "Is Bigfoot real?" Curiosity is the seed of learning. It causes children and adults to explore and expand their learning independently. Many of my students don't have any books or internet at home and don't have access to the public library. Therefore they are limited to what we can give them at school. Unfortunately, without an adequate amount of resources, it becomes a challenge to fulfill their curiosity.
