My students are eager learners who get excited when the work they do is recognized and displayed. Many students struggle with family issues, poverty, and learning challenges. Our school is becoming internationally-minded as students learn Spanish, make connections to other cultures and learn how the world works. All grade levels from Kindergarten through fifth grade attend physical education, music, media arts, technology, art and field trips. There are tutors, parent volunteers and several church and civic organizations that lend their support as lunch buddies and math buddies, and they also sponsor afterschool activities. We have a garden education setting where students see how a variety of vegetables, flowers and shrubs grow and change through 4 seasons. Students love to draw in the garden and experience inquiry-based learning. These students love challenges, they rise to the bar set high and often jump over the bar. These children have the capacity to learn things above our expectations.
