These books will give my students the opportunity to chose books at their independent reading levels and that are of interest to them. By getting these books into my classroom library some of my diverse students will be able to have books with characters that look like them. This will give them the opportunity to read these books as if they were looking into a mirror to feel as though they are important to our classroom. These books will allow some of my struggling readers the opportunity to build their background knowledge and vocabulary to increase their ability to comprehend.
