My passion centers on public education. I attended small, rural schools in the Pee Dee region of South Carolina. From a family of five, I ate free lunch and rode the bus. I experienced the public school system first hand. I felt the cracks. And I determined early in life that I wanted to make a difference. Caring for others, particularly children, fuels my passion. Fortunately, I was blessed to be able to remain at home and tend to my four small children during their most malleable years. But they are older now, receiving a public education of their own. I am an advocate for the public school system. I firmly believe one should utilize public education, unless the system proves insufficient for them specifically. As with any agency, there are deficiencies. But by becoming a part of the system I am better equipped to contribute a solution.
