I teach 3rd or 4th grade in a Spanish immersion program so my students are proudly bilingual. About 60% of our day is taught in Spanish. My students come from culturally, linguistically and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds with most qualifying for free and reduced lunch. The last couple of years, my classroom (second home) has been in a portable, but beginning in the fall of 2018, I will be calling a larger room inside the school home. I am fortunate enough to loop with my students this coming year which means I will go with my students to 4th grade and have the exact same class as the previous year. I am very much looking forward to using what I already know about them to provide the best and most rewarding learning environment and experience possible. I want to close that much talked about learning gap!
