Our Title I school is one of the most diverse schools in its district. There are 3-4 home languages spoken across the student body, with students coming from all types of socioeconomic backgrounds. However, most of our students come from low-income families and are often living in multiple-family homes. Many do not have the opportunity to explore their talents outside of school. Our school has a thriving music program that includes chorus, band, orchestra, and a general music program that allows students to experience music first-hand. Even if students aren't able to afford an instrument of their own or participate in an official school ensemble, they have the opportunity to play instruments such as the ukulele, Orff instruments, and a variety of percussion in the general music classroom.
