My 183 students in my English Language Arts class are currently in 10th grade, are mostly Hispanic, and qualify for free-and-reduced lunches. They adore the technology they do have (what high-schooler isn't attached to their phone?). They are great kids who make me laugh quite often (and some create funny informational videos I wish I could show you, but that would embarrass them). They work really well collaboratively, but their access to technology is rather limited. Our school is a fundamental school with a focus on college and career readiness for our approximately 2500 students. Our mission is "to maintain a community that provides a challenging and supportive environment which empowers students to develop the skills and strategies necessary for post-secondary success."
