My students are a unique group of kids from very different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. As different as they all are from one another, they are really like a big family with an amusing sense of humor. My students are helpful and kind towards one another. The majority of them are recent immigrants or were former English Language Learners (ELLs) in 6th or 7th grade. My students and I are at a Tier 1 school, where every single child qualifies for free lunch. And, my school consists of teachers who help support the students with their supply needs, allow students to spend lunch time with them so that a student may receive additional help or simply have a quiet space to read or draw. My school consists of teachers who are hard working and supportive of their student interests.
