These materials will help engage my students in real world experiences through reading. Many of my students are from a low income background and therefore have limited life experiences. Scholastic News will help bridge the gap. It will also help students connect daily lessons to everyday life. I want my students to be able to see the purpose in their learning and to understand why it is useful. In addition, this will help my students improve their reading fluency and discussion skills! Many of my students are below level and we simply don’t have enough materials to help support their needs.
