The circuit kits that I am requesting for my students will help replace the outdated ones we currently have, that no longer work. Science for my students is focused on the Five E's of science instruction: Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluation. This is often hard at the elementary level due to time constraints where math and reading are extended more time. Hands-on activities allow me to engage my students in hands-on activities where critical thinking takes place, along with group discussions. Students then explore through productive struggle, asks questions to one another to solve the problem. Students then explain the process to one another, myself, then are evaluated on the process. Students at all levels often learn best when they are able to explore with hands-on activities to explain real world problems. Learning through problem solving helps students retain information, allowing them to typically do better on class assessments, improves their confidence in learning, and is preparing them in using the 5 E's and soft skills in their daily life.
