Students here at the high school come from over 40 feeder schools in search of a quality education unlike what they may find at their local school. The school is centered around Project Based Learning and therefore it is imperative that students have the supplies necessary to learn while doing and less by lecture. Our population is a diverse composition of students from low socioeconomic background and many come from homes where English is not the primary language. In fact our school host several international students from China each year. A local National Laboratory provides our students with great motivation to achieve careers in STEM however funding prevents us from keeping up with the budgets of other local high schools. Understanding the need for students to move into STEM careers is what guided many of these students to select the course and now we must meet their needs of provided the highest quality education possible while preparing our students for the 21st century.
