My students are a collection of young minds and spirits that, according to data and the crunching of numbers, are considered behind the "average" capabilities of their peers. However, to have the good fortune of spending even a day with my students, you would see their tenacity and potential. They are wide open and effervescent, and they remind me what it means to believe and to live in wonder. They are palpable learners with clever ideas and the courage to face concepts they don't yet understand. They are inquisitive and honest and they start each day with an open-mind and clean slate. I wish I could say I teach them even half of what they teach me.
