"I have a great class of second graders in a high needs community. Many of my students do not have games at home, and do not belong to social groups for extracurricular activities. They have limited social experiences. Winter time and rainy days prevent the children from going outside to play together during recess. They get tired of sitting at their desks drawing or watching movies. The children would benefit greatly if they had games to play during indoor recess. These games not only provide interaction to improve social skills, there is thinking and learning that takes place. The children need to follow directions and figure out strategies. Usually the PTO is able to provide each class with a few games a year. This year, due to the economy, the PTO funds are low, and there is no money for games. You would really be making a difference for my students if you could help. They deserve to have a little fun with social "play" during their day, even when it's cold or rainy
