In our school, we have an inordinate number of students with autism and other disabilities that make "fitting in" a challenge. We have a very diverse population of students, with families from China, Vietnam, India, and the Philippines. With so many students with special needs, teaching children how to develop friendships and tolerance of each other has been key to our success. In addition to anti-bully programs, we are always looking for new engaging ways to bring these skill building lessons into our curriculum. These children love school, reading, and playing with each other. Making curriculum fun and meaningful is my goal. Our favorite class rule is to "take care of each other no matter what!"
