The students in this class are all English language learners. Students range from absolute beginners to those closer to verbal fluency. All the students struggle with writing and reading skills. Regardless of language ability this is a curious and motivated bunch. On the first day of school they shared with me their love for science experiments and exploring technology. When I asked what is important to you in school the first reply was "learning". Our school is deeply committed to the students it supports. The commitment is best shown by grants we have received such as the one for computers in some of our classrooms. Unfortunately we are located in one of the poorest districts in the country and not all our students needs can be met by us.
