With our school in Louisiana having re-opened only two years ago, the evidence of a city still struggling to recover surrounds us daily. As a result, there are few extracurricular opportunities for students, most of whom come from low-income families. Despite disadvantages, my students are intelligent, hard working, and deeply curious about the world around them.
