Every year I'm blown away at just how special my students are, and at how eager they are to learn. I'm astounded at how my kids are able to come into my room ready to learn when their world at home may be falling apart. Whether it's parents having no job, being evicted from their home, or a parent going or getting out of prison. Our school provides a safe environment for its kids and it shows when they show up early to help/hang out in the classroom, and former students are always stopping by to chat and share how their new school year is going.
