Right now, we mostly use Reading Plus as a screener, and we want to give more of our high school students access to full subscriptions. Our goal is to give eligible students access to the entire Reading Plus program in different settings: ELA class, WIN Block, and at home. The program is personal, allowing students to choose nonfiction readings from STEM, Social Sciences, the Humanities, and Social and Emotional Learning topics. The program is adaptive, challenging students as their reading improves. The program allows teachers to quickly view student achievement and areas of difficulty, so that they can give targeted, small group instruction to students who need to review or learn concepts related to close reading, main idea and themes, interaction of ideas, use of language, structure, point of view, interpreting images, reasoning and rhetoric, and comparative reading.
