I teach fourth grade in an inner-city school in Southern California. Although the children are generally happy, smart students, the school is situated in a neighborhood with limited resources. The size of the school property is not large, but the student population is significant. There are so many students in my school that in order to accommodate all the classes outside for recess and lunch, we have three different recess and lunch periods. My school is a Title 1 school and the whole school qualifies for free breakfast and lunch.
