In enhancing our current school library with digital text licenses it will give our students a richer and broader range of reading materials. Our library is a place my students really enjoy to come and immerse themselves in a new world and adventure. Many students walk within the walls and are transported to different areas of the world with no concept of time. My students have many opportunities to visit the library. Either coming in for classroom read-aloud, individual checkouts to find books they want to read independently, or classroom research projects for wax museums, family science nights, and animal habitats/ reports. In having a digital component with the current pandemic these online digital media and e-books will allow the students to acquire books that they want to read at home and extend their learning outside of the school classroom. These licenses will allow my students to have opportunities and afford choice to those that read freakishly fast or those that take their time to savor each of the authors prolific words. It will help to have a diverse resource with ability levels and genres for all my students. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, have other good readers read to you, and to practice. These digital licenses will help my students to become stronger readers. My amazing students have shown a unique desire for reading. Wanting to get their hands on tangible copies of books with all of the current pandemic. This project would help my students to remain engaged while they enrich and inspire themselves with the digital words.
