The 43 second grade bilingual students in my classroom are all english language learners. Everyday, they come in my classroom ready to learn to not only read and write the english and Spanish languages, but also to learn the necessary skills that will lead them to success. They are a team and they know it. Together we say the chant "I believe in myself and my ability to do my best at all times. Today I will be respectful, responsible, caring, and safe will listen, read, and write. I will do all these things with one purpose in mind. To do my best and not waste this day, for this day will come no more." If one of them forgets this during the day, there is always one caring student that reminds him/her. They understand that they are leaders and that they always set the example for other students. They know they are the future of the world and to make a difference, they have to start now "If not me then who? If not know then when?" Our school is very supportive of our bilingual students
