My students are six and seven year old first-graders who continue to amaze me in their abilities to learn and grow. These children learn many new things and share in my great joy for each of their successes. I will begin with the fact that I love my school and my students. These little learners ensure that I enjoy coming to school each day. I work in a low socioeconomic district outside of the city. Most of my students receive free, or reduced, lunch and breakfast. Many also spend time in before and after school care. Also, a large percentage of these children have come to school without supplies. As the year progresses, my students begin to depend on other students to share their supplies, which they do, graciously.
