Our school is an urban PreK-8 NJ public school with a high number of learners from diverse backgrounds. As teacher of science, I am solely responsible for middle grade instruction of science (6-8) and provide science support for teachers of elementary grades. There are multiple sections of each middle grade classes. Student innovation and interest at the elementary level is extremely high due to the wonderful teachers who find the time to incorporate science experiences within an otherwise Math and LAL focused district. Student science fair participation school-wide has always been the capstone of the academic year and is a wonderful illustration of the genius within our students who hail from various cultural and academic backgrounds. Our students not only have surpassed state averages on state NJASK and PARCC testing but have earned scholarships to Moorestown Friends and the Peddie School.
