I work in a Title 1 high poverty, mostly Hispanic school. My 21 students have an amazing resilience and want to learn! My school has adopted the "No Excuses University" program, which guides children to the philosophy that they CAN go to college and that "after high school, comes college!" My students come into my classroom typically a grade or two below "standards". Every little gain is celebrated, no matter how big or small. Their excitement over learning and understanding new concepts is a constant source of joy in my life!
