I work in a Title-1 school. Parent participation is very scarce. As I stated before, I am the gifted teacher and part of my job is to provide enrichment in Math and Language Arts. Most all of our students lack the vocabulary acquisition and experience that is often so important in life. I do my best to bring these experiences to my students whom I love. The make-up of my students range from African American to Hispanic. These students have a love of learning, and are often very excited to come to school. Parental involvement is lacking in our school, and as you may imagine parental support in the classroom is too. I am often in need of supplies, as I serve roughly over 300 students weekly. My job is to provide the BEST for my students despite the socioeconomic status of their parents. It is not their fault, and I want them to have the best, no less!
