My school is a supportive, vibrant, and diverse suburban campus. Our students come from a wide variety of national, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and they celebrate their diversity. I teach 12th grade students who need to learn more about the effective use of technology to be ready for college and for the current job market. My students love to talk and express their opinions. They learn well in small groups where they can collaborate on projects and on making meaning. They are supportive and respectful of each other; they are hungry for more opportunities to have their voices heard in meaningful and impactful ways. However, my school does not have easily accessible technology. The resources we have are limited to a couple of carts of laptops and a few computer labs for over 120 teachers. It is often difficult to secure technology on a regular basis.
