My students are incoming freshmen with about 75-80% are Native Americans and more than 65% of the population receiving free lunch. I believe that my students are competitive and have the potential to soar high given the proper education, environment and resources. I believe that if my students could have access to a Scientific Calculator, they would be able to speed up doing precise calculations in doing Science concepts that involve Math and we will be able to focus on more hands-on experience and labs. concepts in our curriculum with ease as well as be challenged to increase their academic success. Research shows that students who use calculators on tests have higher scores in both basic computation skills and problem solving.
