Our students are often very unengaged due to gang activity and problems at home. Our school is emphasizing social/emotional (SEL) learning and I incorporate that into all of my lessons. We are a high poverty school, and are very tight on funding as everyone is right now. Art is often the one class that the students can feel successful in.
