Bringing the Ancient to Life- Martin Luther King Jr said, "We are not makers of history. We are made by history." Along with around 80 6th graders, we enjoy reading, writing, building, exploring to learn about the world from the Stone Age to 1600 A.D. Ancient civilizations, world cultures, and world religions make up our focus. My school is one of the few public schools that goes from K4-8th grade. We are located in rural South Carolina where about 50% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. This wide range of ages and abilities allows us to create a community of learners who encourage one another!
