Mrs. Ice's kids are from a high percentage of lower to middle income working families yet love to learn, just like kids from wealthier districts. We try to do as much "hands on" science stuff as Mrs. Ice can create at home with inexpensive materials. We sure would like to have some new measuring items like a few digital balances and spring scales. We also would love some hands on gadgets and models that Mrs. Ice can't make at home, like the blow up World Globes and the weather demonstrations kit. Mr. Ice did build us a hover craft that we get to ride down the halls when we study friction, but some of the things Mrs. Ice needs are just too hard for her to make at home or too expensive for her to buy. We promise we will learn a lot and go IMPROVE OR CHANGE THE WORLD as Mrs. Ice tells us is our responsibility! We know that many districts around us have much more modern facilities than we do, but we know that learning is not about the building as much as the materials!
