The materials and supplies I am requesting for my first graders will keep them engaged in learning all about how letters and sounds work in words. Most of us know that children need engaging activities in which they can touch, feel and move things. We need books, white boards and magnetic letters. This will make a difference in students' learning by making them excited to come to school. They will want to stay in school and engage in learning. They will become excited about all they are discovering as they write word parts to make new words on these white boards. For example back, pack, sack, black, stack, and track.
