Allowing students to learn in the way their body is wired has been shown to yield more positive results than asking all students to learn the same way (ie: in a desk and chair). Using balance balls helps students with verve get that energy out of their system while remaining focused on the tasks they need to complete. They can use these balls with a desk or table, or as an earned incentive to take a "brain break" for students with ADHD or on days when we are doing a lot of sitting (like test days, ugh). These seats allow my students to focus on their work without thinking about where their energy is going. Wiggle seats and bean bags allow them to move or sit criss-cross. For students who don't want to sit, standing at their desks will also be an option with the bed-risers put underneath the legs of a desk where they can stand comfortably and continue working.
