My classroom is filled with eighteen students who are eager to learn! At the school in which I teach, 100% of the students receive free or reduced lunch due to their low-income status. In addition to living in poverty, several of my students are English-language learners. While our school is growing, our reading proficiency is far below average. My class mirrors the school in regards to low reading proficiency.
