The goal of this project is provide two LabQuest 2 data collection devices and appropriate sensors and accessories for my Ag Power classes. I recently attended CASE (Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education) and have lots of new tools for my teacher toolbox. This curriculum has a heavy emphasis on STEM and inquiry-based learning. I am excited to put my new knowledge to work for my students, but I need some tools to do that. The most important tool that we will use continually throughout the year for various lab activities is the LabQuest 2 data collection device, along with various sensors to measure things such as: electrical current, temperature, force, RPMs, etc. These devices, along with the appropriate sensors, will help us to carry out lab and inquiry-based activities almost everyday in the classroom by making data collection and graphing a cinch. We will look at the science behind many basic concepts in Ag Power and take it to a deeper level of understanding than they have ever had before. The students in my Ag Power classes are always curious about how and why things work and we are going to explore the how and the why much more than ever before. I am excited to get to work!
