We are one of the oldest alternative high schools in New York City. Our population consists of students who are over-aged and under-credited. They have been required to leave, or have decided on their own to leave, their previous high schools for a number of reasons from poor attendance and behavioral issues to emergent family and legal issues. The main reason, however, is because they have fallen too far behind in their studies and became too old to be able to graduate from a regular high school at their scheduled time.
