My students have all been removed from typical classrooms due to their behaviors. My students have various disabilities including ODD, PTSD, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Autism, and learning disabilities. The students I work with are lacking an understanding of society's norms and really need a tangible reward system to help them recognize the positive because they are so used to negative responses. Many of them are very behind academically because their behaviors have interfered with their academics; I want to create a system that helps them see the positive, have positive consequences, and created positive habits. My school is in an urban environment and my students come from low socioeconomic background, many of them are from single parent homes with some in foster situations. The school is a newer building with a great staff who really support each other and honestly want what is best for all of the students with whom we get to work each day.
