My students are all children with Autism. Their day requires a tremendous amount of structure and supports that will enable them to function throughout their day. All of my students require a daily schedule and visual supports. One of my students requires a one to one paraprofessional in order to engage in classroom activities, as well as carry out daily living skills. All of my students are verbal and require a very hands-on and engaging form of instruction in order to maintain focus and on task behavior. Most of my students are working on readiness to learn (sitting, attending, and following directions) along with their academic instruction. They are extremely eager to learn and grow, however; they battle with their sensory needs when it comes to time on task and engagement.
