The color printer is necessary to prepare pictured visual schedules, social stories, vocabulary cards, articulation cards and visual support for my students to communicate. These materials will directly teach my students new skills. For example, when a student arrives at school, his visual schedule will be ready for him to help guide him through his day. If an autistic student has a fear of loud noises, I can go through a social story to prepare her for the monthly fire drill. The students will gain pragmatic/social skills. Donations to this project will improve communication skills for my exceptional needs students by enhancing their opportunities to use visual supports to communicate. I'm looking forward to seeing my students improving their ability to understand and express themselves.
