My fourth graders need Chromebooks. In Montana, students take on-line testing which includes typing a multi-paragraph essay and reading the questions online. It is difficult to provide them opportunities to practice keyboarding skills without technology as well as how to prepare them for testing. We currently have nine Chromebooks that they are allowed to use during the day to help with their research papers and to work on reading skills that work with typing answers and answering questions through the use of technology. One component in my reading curriculum involves inquiry-based projects in which research is required. We currently don't have enough Chromebooks for each student to use during inquiry research days so they are having to pair up with a partner to complete their projects or we borrow for another class. It would be so nice to have enough computers so that students can explore on their own. Please choose to be a part of their education and future success.
