In San Rafael, CA we have heatwaves both during the fall and spring portions of the school year. When the high for the day is above ninety degrees the temperature in the classroom is above eighty degrees for much of the school day. Our school was built without a cooling system and they kids need some relief in order to focus on hot days. At this time teaching and learning after lunch on hot day is difficult for everyone. The kids are lethargic, cranky, and unable to focus. With an air conditioning unit everyone would be more product. This air conditioning unit will of course last for many years and benefit hundreds of students over the course of its operating life time.
