Good organization is key to a classroom that allows for independent learning. Students must be able to easily go to a shelf and find reading materials and workstations appropriate for their level. Color coding helps students find those materials. Each color represents a different reading level. The color coded bins will help them do that. The magnetic boards will be used in the workstations for working with phonetic activities such as word building. The caddies will be used to organize tabletop materials such as scissors, glue, pencils, and erasers. All these things will help the students find instructional materials quickly and minimize time off task behavior. Every minute counts! My students have already lost so much instructional time with the Corona Virus and being out of school. I know that that each moment I spend with them will make a difference and organization will help that. Let's make every minute count.
