My students are 4th, 5th, and 6th graders, each student in my class has one or more mild to moderate learning disability and qualifies for special education services. Every student is unique in how they best learn, but they each share an interest in technology and creativity and they benefit from any type of visual support and small group instruction. All of my students are performing at different grade levels, ranging from 1st to 5th grade, and are working hard to make progress with the challenges of their different disabilities. Because each student is performing at a different grade level, it is important that their learning activities are appropriately designed to meet their specific learning goals. I am a first year teacher and have limited materials, technology and hands-on math manipulatives to enhance their everyday learning experiences. These supplies and technology could transform our classroom and make curriculum goals more attainable for students with learning disabilities.
