My students are a unique mix of teenagers that have a variety of interests. Many of the students are of low socio-economic status so a bright part of their day is coming to school to learn. A few of our students are English Language Learners as well. My school does everything in its power to help the students reach their learning goals. Most teachers are here long before their mandatory reporting time and put in long hours after school to do what will benefit the students education the most. You may ask why I am asking for a magazine subscription. The simplest answer is POWER. In today's world reading is everything. Almost two-thirds of our students read at or below grade level. Reading gives an individual the POWER to learn and make choices.
