Help me provide a fun environment to celebrate our love for learning to read and the pleasures it can bring. I want to provide students with themed days such as: Snow Much Reading, We R Readers (Pirate Day), Reading is Out of this World (Space Day), Camp Out with a Good Book (Camping Day), All Hallows Read (Halloween Theme), Reading Makes Us Glow (Glow Stick Party), and Reading Makes Us Bright (Outdoor Reading with Sunglasses). To often we are focusing on students reading to answer questions and prepare for a test, I want my students to experience reading for pleasure. With these themed days, we can use our normally shortened days due to SIP plans to experience how fun reading can be.
