I teach Special Education in junior high. We are located in a rural school in the western part of Montana. Money is tight. My high needs students have a difficult time with skills that most students that age have mastered. For example, note taking. The iPad is an easy to use tool that can help level the playing field in a cool, age appropriate alternative to hand written notes. I have amazing students who are capable of so much and are unable to take notes in their classes because of their fine motor disabilities. I have three high needs students all of which could benefit for the use of an iPad. Having an iPad available can create success in projects and assignments. With an iPad we could have access to apps such as Typ-O which are able to predict the word the student begins to type thus reducing the time it takes for students to write papers, take notes and answer essay questions.
