Our school serves inner city youth. We are a Title 1 school located in Far Rockaway, New York. Our students were greatly affected by the impact of Hurricane Sandy last year. In an effort to increase attendance "Rux Bux" were created by our Principal Shawn Rux. Teachers and other staff members hand them out when students earn them by being well behaved, participating in community service, displaying good character etc. They can be traded in for school supplies, or special lunches.
