We are a small rural central Texas community. As such, our school does not have a lot of revenue. Most of my students live on either a ranch or a farm, are poor to middle class, and many come from broken households are live with grandparents. However, they are an excellent group of students, are well behaved, study hard, and have a thirst for knowledge. They recently competed in district UIL and made our school proud by bring home several first place medals, many second and third place medals, and the overall first place district trophy! Several teachers and the school board have complimented them on their manners and abilities. As a first year teacher, this class has been a blessing! They have been patient with me, have followed the rules, and have been a real joy to teach. Although small and poor, the district's goal is to provide the students with quality education and strong moral support. I can't imagine teaching anywhere else!
