Games like MasterMind and Pentago are excellent strategy games that give students the opportunity to challenge not only themselves but each other as well. Students will have the opportunity to work with others and develop social skills. They will learn to problem solve and persevere through play. Games are an excellent way to teach resiliency in a nonthreatening environment. As a teacher of 56 varied learners teachers like myself need to provide engaging learning activities. Giving students opportunities to learn through play encourages them to persist through tough activities. They can then transfer these skills into the classroom and real life.
